My recipes generally go: "simmer for n episodes of classic Doctor Who, or n/2 episodes of new Who, or n/2.5 episodes of RTD-era Who plus time to shout at the screen".

I like it. I'm going to start applying television-show-length-based timings to more things in life. It's an excellent mnemonic device.
