[Butterflies making more butterflies]
This is a male and a female great yellow mormon, mating. They did not budge no matter how many small children shouted and pointed at them. Now that’s focus.
( Mating and other stages of butterfly )
I’ve sent off the film photos to be developed. I took a bunch in Delft in January. The roll was on 21 out of 36 when we got to the butterfly farm, and the children finished off the rest, so we shall see what they managed to capture. Hopefully there are some good ones in there.

And now, actual butterflies!

[Iguana, the very definition of chillaxed.]
I decided to cash in my mother's day jolly one day early, because tomorrow we all get to stand in a muddy rugby pitch whilst Keiki shouts at Coach Daddy. (Not for the whole day, but it's not lying in bed all day reading Jane Austen either.)
Anyway, we went to Stratford-upon-Avon, where amongst other rather more famous attractions, there is a butterfly farm. I brought along my dSLR with the macro lens and a film camera, and proceeded to take eleventy bajillion (well, over 500) photos. So many, in fact, that I'm going to split them over several posts. Starting with "creatures at the butterfly farm that are not butterflies".
( Fish, birds, snake )

This is the interior of the top floor of the East Banqueting House from yesterday's entry. It's all one big room, nicely furnished, but the real attraction of it is the views from all the windows, and the great wooden double doors on the right, which open directly onto the lawn.
You can also zoom in and play a frustrating game of "Spot the Humuhumu". Hint: she isn't next to the tablet, which was abandoned by Keiki when he went to hunt for an apple in the kitchen downstairs.
