cxcvi requested a non-sculpture-trail photo of Bristol. I took this when Keiki and I went there for the day for one of the last weekends of my maternity leave. It's a view of the ruined Saint Peter's Church in Castle Park, near Cabot Circus shopping centre (where we parked). I love the symmetrical lines of the modern sculpture contrasted with the Norman/medieval solidity of the stone edifice behind it.

We arrived in these British isles aboard a boat with Willy Da Conk, and after a lively bun-fight somewhere near Hastings (We were, I suspect, highly valued in battle due to our highly specialised legs, which have the knees below half-way, thus making it pointless to try to run away...) we staggered off westwards, until - faced with the prospect of either getting very wet or having to climb a lot of steep hills - we decided to stop where we'd ended up, and built a little settlement all of our very own.
I have tried suggesting to my brother and nephews that we try marching into the Bristol town council offices sometime and claiming our town back, but they don't seem very keen. =:o}
(Any accusations that this all mere speculation based upon the flimsiest of historical evidence will be met with a suitably carefree shrug. =;o} )

...no... I do... I just had to think. I've maybe seen it once? and it was pissing it down later that day. And I didn't care.
