Sooooo...did they pick Annie because they couldn't choose between Debra and Man Yee? I'm super confused by that result. Don't get me wrong, I really loved Annie's creations, but by last three weeks I thought it was pretty obviously a contest between the other two.

I'm also confused by why Brogan was still in it for the final. She clearly fell well behind the others in Week 7 and should have gone either then or in Week 8. There was no way she was going to win it and all her presence did was muddy the waters in the last challenge.

Damn. I saved this entry all day without clicking until I could see the show. I saw the show and then came here to write THE EXACT SAME THING. Except. Debra. 1. Her transformation should have won and so 2. She should have won. I'm calling ageism. (And her husband must cost her a fortune in tissues. I wonder if he cries all the time or only when he's on camera?)

And yes, Brogan was cute but that's all she really brought to the table. She shouldn't have been in the final.

Annie's final dress was great but Debra's fit better. Ok. I'm done. But thanks so much for the cut and giving me the goal dujour of getting back here.

I agree Brogan had no place in that final! She should have been sent home for not following the brief, like Marnie and Christian before her. (Also I personally found her annoying but that's separate from her performance)

I do think Annie's Made to Measure fit the brief better than Debra's, though. They had to create a red carpet worthy jumpsuit and while Debra's creation was striking and great for a hen night, I don't think it had quite the star power that Annie's and Man Yee's had. Ultimately I wish Man Yee had won, but Annie was a deserving winner too.

I thought it was between Annie and Man Yee because Debra's wasn't quite glamorous catwalk-worthy. I've been wanting Man Yee to win all the way through but I do agree Annie just pipped it on that final piece.

I thought Brogan should have gone home last week as she was clearly falling behind. I had wanted Man Yee to win and thought she had done enough but I'm not unhappy with Annie winning, she's made some terrific made to measure garments in the latter weeks of the competition and I thought her 'bow' dress was utterly red carpet more so than any of the others.

I noticed Patrick was shown saying Brogan was the most technically adept (or something similar) contestant on more than one occasion, so I suspect he fought to keep her in despite the fact her semi-final piece did not fit the brief and Esme was clearly not happy with it.

I dunno - there's the narrow interpretation of finding the "best amateur sewer" where you're only looking at how well the sewing has been executed. And then there's the wider interpretation where you're looking at how well they've chosen fabrics and patterns as well as how well they place the stitches. But throughout the series they've taken the broader view, so it rankles that Brogan got "saved" to reach the final when others were eliminated earlier on for the same error.

Overall, I was just happy the winner wasn't Brogan. And I'm trying to not dislike her for choices made by the production team (or whoever OK'd a 4-person final), but over the weeks her work felt really one-note. I think it took her a long time to display any sort of versatility in style, particularly in comparison to the rest of the finalists.

Clearly the way to win is to put a big Esme-pleasing bum-bow on every Made to Measure!
