I noticed Patrick was shown saying Brogan was the most technically adept (or something similar) contestant on more than one occasion, so I suspect he fought to keep her in despite the fact her semi-final piece did not fit the brief and Esme was clearly not happy with it.

I dunno - there's the narrow interpretation of finding the "best amateur sewer" where you're only looking at how well the sewing has been executed. And then there's the wider interpretation where you're looking at how well they've chosen fabrics and patterns as well as how well they place the stitches. But throughout the series they've taken the broader view, so it rankles that Brogan got "saved" to reach the final when others were eliminated earlier on for the same error.

Overall, I was just happy the winner wasn't Brogan. And I'm trying to not dislike her for choices made by the production team (or whoever OK'd a 4-person final), but over the weeks her work felt really one-note. I think it took her a long time to display any sort of versatility in style, particularly in comparison to the rest of the finalists.

Clearly the way to win is to put a big Esme-pleasing bum-bow on every Made to Measure!
