Day 69/365: Caturday: Remembering Sputnik

Regular readers may remember that Telstar used to have a brother. He was killed by a car when we were still living in Cambridge. I made my last Caturday post featuring Sputnik on 10 March 2012.

He was a scrappier, lankier, grumpier character than Telstar, but no less loved. I still miss him.

He wasn't indiscriminately cuddly like Telstar but he was a sweet boy with his family.

It's always hard losing a cat. I still miss the ones who aren't with me any more and sometimes I wake up thinking I can hear one of them snoring.

I miss mine so much! It doesn't matter how long it's been, I still remember the weight of mine in my arms and the sound of their footsteps.

Yes! Each of them feels different when you pick them up. Telstar turns into a limp boneless fluff. Sputnik was all lithe muscle.

Telstar is a super cat but I'm a Sputnik baby and Sputnik was my kind of cat.

Sputnik was the brains of their outfit. Telstar was fully aware of that and felt his loss more keenly for it, I'm sure.
