I think we could all stand to finish the week with something fluffy and not so harrowing. So here is a calming photo of me at my desk at work at 07:15 yesterday morning, as the first installment of the Seven Days of Selfies bit of the LJ-versary celebrations.

And here is Friday's Unscientific Poll, which is soothing and about socks and has been shamelessly poached from my Twitter friend

Which is to say I literally spend as much time as humanly possible without danger of either literal frostbite, massive social offence or injury to my feet barefoot. I hate socks. It's a massive screaming sensory problem with me, and one of the ones that I laugh at bitterly: I did spend a good, you know, twenty years of my life if not more unaware that this was a problem! I also spent a good twenty years of my life prone to overload on a near-daily basis and a lot of unfortunate behaviours to cope with that.
Nowadays I know that socks (anything that covers both my toes and the bridge of my foot at the same time, in fact: I can have my bridge covered or my toes covered but NOT BOTH and neither is preferrable) are one of the things that takes up massive sensory processing RAM, I avoid wearing them, but that means I rEALLY NOTICE when I have to have them on and they set that off. *makes face*
I legit live in sandals AS SOON as it's not raining freezing cold rain on a daily basis, and stay in them until I am actually risking chillblains/frostbite/etc. And within a home, I am always, always barefoot. I took slipper-shoes (the really really BARE ballet flats we had about seven years ago) to live in my locker at the university, because GAH.

I'm deathly afraid of the cold, so I kind of have to wear socks to bed in winter :p

I confess, I do occasionally wear socks to bed in the winter when it's properly cold. But I always get too hot in them and end up waking up to remove them.

I only sleep in socks if I can't get warm. (I have the metabolism of a lizard, so I'm in socks for a big chunk of winter.)

I'm the same with socks & sleeping - only when I'm cold, and even then I invariably wake up in the night to remove them because I've overheated.

I sleep weird though. I sleep best in old footie shirts and oversized wwe shirts. So my choice in bed gear should probs not be taken too seriously :P

Just right.
I just have this sudden urge to stare at my feet, because I can't control what they make me do.

Of course, sometimes the urge to scratch is just too strong, and off comes the sock. Then I wake up a few hours later with a cold (and possibly slightly stingy, if I scratched too much) left foot - probably sticking out from under the duvet! - and the right one still wrapped up and cosy. =:o?
