Last weekend we went to Leeds to visit the bloke's sister and family. On our way out the door, Humuhumu received a box from Eldest Niece containing this advent calendar. We didn't look at it until we got home. The bloke assembled it and hung it above the fireplace, where we can bask in its rainbow glory.
I'm really hoping this is meant to be a portrayal of the nativity, because it is truly spectacular. Starting from the lower right of the calendar, Joseph appears to be wearing a dress and carrying a fan and parasol. Mary wears a lovely white-spotted pink dress and a circlet and is carrying a basket. (I have made the distinction between the two adults purely based on the presence of eyelashes. It could well be the other way round.)
Baby Jesus sports a pretty pink twin set and pearls with a skirt as he feeds the bluebirds and the peacock, and seems to have been born aged five. He is flanked by an enormous parrot in a large green and gold cage. The latter have come out of the first two boxes. Humuhumu loves them.
As we carry on up the picture, we encounter a pink unicorn and its companion pony, a peacock on a fence, a large quantity of camellias, a fountain in a formal garden and finally, a castle.
AMAZING

Today's box yielded a camellia bush.

Given that Humuhumu is receiving an upbringing that could best be described as "apathetic atheist", she's going to be forming quite an interesting impression of Christian theology.
