Sauntering Vaguely Downward

Last week we went up to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park for an outdoor playdate with the bloke's sister and the cousins. As with every trip to Leeds, we had prepared ourselves for a frigid trudge through the rain and wolfing down sandwiches in whatever poor shelter we could find under some trees. We were pleasantly surprised to have both sunshine and warmth, and ended up going for a 6 mile walk up into the surrounding forest.



As it was our first lengthy car journey for some months, I decided it was time to introduce Keiki and Humuhumu to Cabin Pressure. We listened to the first two episodes on the way up. They were instant fans. Keiki relates to Caroline, and Humuhumu to Douglas. If this is the model for their future sibling relations, I expect to be very entertained over the next few years.

Keiki: "If anyone is Sir, *I* am Sir!"
Humuhumu, drily: "Pass the tomato sauce, oh Sir of Sirs."

I'm afraid I must bombard you with some more Adorable Small Relative pictures now, as I have quite a lot of catching up to do on my photo backlog. This is Little Niece. Memorable moments from our recent visit to Leeds include:

Little Niece, snuggling up next to me on a sun lounger: Auntie nanila, I wish you were my mummy.
Me: I think you'd find that wasn't quite as awesome as you were hoping.
Little Niece's daddy: If Auntie nanila is your mummy, can I still be your daddy?
LN, flatly: No. Uncle Bloke will be my daddy.
LN's daddy: Can I have your play room if you go and live in Cambridge?
LN: No.

And, while we were squeaking tasty grilled halloumi between our teeth before watching Doctor Who:

LN: Oh no! The cheese robbers are comin' to steal our cheese!
Me: Oh no! What will we do?
LN: I hear the Tardis.
Me: Oh good. The Doctor will know what to do.
LN: NOOOO, Auntie nanila. Amy will help us.
