This will end well.
The dialogue went something like this.
Keiki: "I love you, kitteh! I love you so much! I drool on you!"
Telstar: "There had better be some prime gooshy food waiting for me downstairs in about five minutes when the baby is still alive after this."
The topmost photo is actually the last one I took, because Keiki landed squarely on top of Telstar, buried his face in his fur and clenched both his fists around Telstar's middle. Telstar, bless him, merely gave me a long-suffering look, sighed and put his paws up by his head whilst I disengaged the baby.
Halloween decorations, painted by Humuhumu and me.
The toddler and I passed our time in a slightly more productive way this weekend. Whilst Keiki napped, exhausted from his assaults on the cat, we made decorations for her birthday party, which will be on Halloween. We did a lot of gluing and also some drawing and painting. I was quite proud of her efforts. I laid a bit of the base paint on these ceramic skulls for her, but the final effect is all down to her and - I know I'm biased - I think they're pretty fantastic.
Humuhumu celebrates her achievements by eating a biscuit.*
Keiki...eats a biscuit with the aid of his new teeth.
* I just realised I didn't post publicly about this. Last Monday, Humuhumu fell in the playground at nursery. She does this regularly, but this time she managed to fall face-first onto a solitary piece of bark tracked in from the car park, which cut her forehead. She went to hospital and to the GP, where she would like everyone to know that she was very brave and didn't cry.
We took the steri-tape off last night. She was, as expected, very brave about it. We're not sure if it'll scar yet, but at the moment it makes for a pretty perfect Harry Potter cosplay with her glasses.

We have made some gift bags for her friends. I have plans for us to make a few more decorations together, including some creepy cupcakes.

And as long as Keiki understands that teeth are for biscuits and drool is for cats, not the other way round... =8o?

I'm sure Keiki will get it wrong at some point. :/

Humuhumu should be very proud of those skulls - they look great!
And Telstar really can be an angel at times, can't he? How wonderfully patient he was with Keiki - and how adorable the pix!
