Our stairs would so not pass modern building regulations. They are very steep. There is a bannister but only on the wall and it doesn't extend around the twist. On the other side, you can fall straight into the kitchen if you so desire! /o\
I was also going up and down those stairs quite frequently when heavily pregnant with both of them. That wasn't scary. Noooope.
Touch wood, the small humans seem to be pretty good with the terrifying stairs of doom. Humuhumu has been going up (on all fours) and down (on her bum) on her own for over a year. Now that she can reach the bannister she sometimes walks down. She's always very careful.
We should put the stair gate up soon, though, before Keiki's ambulatory powers get much faster!
