Humuhumu in an astronaut outfit, with Telstar.
Meant to post this on Caturday, but there was no time, what with the parkrun and going to look at bicycles and gardening and general parenting of one very active toddler and one baby who's just learnt to crawl and has markedly more suicidal tendencies than his sister, including a blatant disregard for the spikeyness capabilities of the cat.
There was a dress-up day for charity at Humuhumu's nursery last week. Every girl in the toddler room was a princess.

This probably wasn't meant to be funny but I laughed anyway. Hopefully Telstar will teach Keiki without it being TOO painful for the latter.

Telstar's definitely holding back on the object lesson. He's scratched the baby very lightly (baby was so not fussed), but I'm sure at some point he'll decide Keiki's big enough to learn.

Also, is it second babies or something? Nico has way less fear/sense than Charles did at same ages.
Nico has ALL the Frozen clothes, so is bending stereotypes the other way.

And go Nico! I have another friend with a son who loves dressing in "girl" costumes. He's six and is already aware he's breaking a social norm. It's great.

It says a lot about a lot of parents rather than their kids, so go you and go Humuhumu! :o)

I wonder how many of those princesses were actively being rewritten to be characters suiting the nature of the young children, rather than hang the young children trying to emulate the characters.

(And Keiki will learn respect for Telstar soon enough. *g*)

Yes, I think Keiki has a spikey lesson to learn soon. He's already been scratched lightly once and not been bothered at all.

Plus Telstar adds a certain "giant space monster" element.

The giant space monster is currently practising his lounging behind me on the spare room bed.
