7/7/2005: so it turns out this is still pretty visceral for me

Today is the tenth anniversary of the (most recent) London bombings.

I was living in Camden at the time. My LJ posts on that day are here.

If you'll excuse me, I think I'll be spending the rest of the day cuddling my baby son and watching the Tour de France.

Those events are always fresh on their anniversaries.

It's always especially "fun" when they blindside you with that particular quality. I often forget to brace myself on certain significant dates, like my grandfather's death, and find myself flattened unexpectedly. :/

Some of my significant days have made it to my calendar so that I can be aware of them and how they might affect me or my partner. It helps, sometimes.

This is a very good idea. We keep a wall calendar for shared itinerary items. I think I'll mark down a few dates. Thank you.
