7/7/2005: so it turns out this is still pretty visceral for me
Today is the tenth anniversary of the (most recent) London bombings.
I was living in Camden at the time. My LJ posts on that day are here.
If you'll excuse me, I think I'll be spending the rest of the day cuddling my baby son and watching the Tour de France.

And hey, I didn't know you knew Sander and Jade! Tony worked with Sander in San Francisco, and we went to their wedding :-)

Thank you also for telling me about the unexpected intersection of friendship groups. It made my day much better. :)

I modded the LJ community that you linked to that day.

Thanks for telling me that. It comforts me greatly to know that someone so generous of spirit became part of my circle much later.

It's always especially "fun" when they blindside you with that particular quality. I often forget to brace myself on certain significant dates, like my grandfather's death, and find myself flattened unexpectedly. :/
I share your hope.

I got through it. I spent a lot of time after the Tour coverage making a nice dinner and pudding for the family, which helped. Wimbledon has been good too, although flipping between them has been a little nerve-wracking!

I hope spending time with your son helped you feel better. *hugs*

It did, thank you. Yesterday was better, and today was almost back to normal. *hugs back*
