1. I laughed, a lot. Especially at his expression. Also we have that digital scale.

2. Then I had to explain to Charles why I was laughing. And showed him the photo, and he laughed.

3. Then we discussed whether Charles or Nico would ever have fit in a mixing bowl that size.

It's a good scale. I'm fond of it.

That's the biggest of our three nested mixing bowls. And Keiki was 3170 grams at the weigh-in before this (somewhat inaccurate due to being clothed) one. So C or N would have fit provided they weren't much bigger than that!

I just showed the first photo to a fellow Irishwoman who does not know you or himself, let alone Keiki. I read the "scientist" bit beforehand and the official Irish response (cos I'd had it earlier, but I scientifically tested it) was "Jaysus, that's adorable".

I showed both my mum and sister this. We all laughed and thought it was ridiculously adorable. Gorgeous.

So did you get a reading on how much he'd gained?

Sort of. Really we should have stripped him off, but he always throws a wobbly when we change his nappy so we guesstimated that we should subtract about 250 grams from the reading. He appeared to have gained about 150 grams.

Yes, he is dubious of our methods. Rightly so, as we should have stripped him off if we really wanted to weigh him properly. Clothes + nappy are significant when you only weigh a few kilos.
