[For those who are wondering where the last installment of the Space Summer School, Days 9 & 10, log has got to: It's still in progress. I...am finding it difficult to put enough of a spin on it so that it would be appropriate to post it publicly. It will probably end up under access-lock. An event at the end is very likely to have tainted the experiences of a subset of the students. I don't feel comfortable putting up my impressions of it, which are decidedly coloured by my frustration over an occurrence (lasting a few minutes) nearly ruining what was otherwise an enriching and productive ten days, where said students might find them. Frankly, I hope they'll have already begun to forget it. The last thing I want to do is force them to relive an unpleasant portion of their recollection of the school.]
And now, the happy stuff.
This weekend was rather warm. We spent a large portion of it in our garden, either in the paddling pool or next to it at the picnic table.
Humuhumu is enjoying the new set of paints that the bloke bought for her. The warm weather means we don't have to worry about her tendency to decorate herself as extensively as her canvases.

First, select tool.

Next, ensure that this is the colour I'm looking for.

Apply colour firmly.

Finally, inspect tool. Repeat for 45 minutes at least.

Afterward, use paddling pool to clean up. Dadas are likely to be in need of a good hose-down.

A nice walk by the canal may lead to discovery of a duck family sitting on the overflow of the lock. (Photo by Humuhumu with pointing aid of Mama.)

I wish I were still small enough for a paddling pool.

Being technically too large for the paddling pool has yet to stop me and the bloke from going in it...

The photos are darling and I love her concentrating-hard-this-is-srs-bzns look. Also paddling pools are great.

Very glad we bought our paddling pool one weekend in April when it was hammering it down. Our local Home Base has run out!
