Request #24: Something rainbow. These earrings in a shop window caught my eye.


Request #25: Something that makes me smile. I always like it when people make the effort to beautify something that is inherently quite functional and usually ugly, like a shop security shutter.

The earrings are oddly compelling for, well, shop window earrings. Nicely spotted and composed!

Yes! I enjoyed looking at them, but I couldn't imagine wearing them.

I love the shutter painting. Reminds me of Genova and the shock of realising that those decorative architraves, columns, and statues were painted on the sides of buildings, even warehouses.

I've determined that we must, if possible, see more of Italy, with Humuhumu in tow. She loves being outside and exploring, so I think she would take in all this outdoor art.

It's worth many visits, indeed.

She might also like Angouleme, near here. It's a mediaeval hill city with many elegant later additions and it is also the international centre for graphic novels/comics. Several of the more modern buildings have paintings up the sides; the little local trains are decorated, too.

Ah, these are lovely! I quite like the blurring you've done in the first photo. And seeing that painting of the sunflowers makes me smile as well. It's nice to see something so gorgeous brighten up the surrounds.

Thank you! I'm not normally big on digital manipulation, but Google Photos lets you do some fun edits.

It was wet and grey on the morning I took the sunflower photo, so they really stood out.
