Tiddlers (the Broads)

Humuhumu and I spent a week in Norfolk with her paternal grandparents. I did a bit of painting whilst I was there. These are two quick ones I did after walks along the dyke next to the River Waveney in the broads.

Those are really evocative. Looks like the kind of place that one wouldn't feel neutral about; I can see those great sweeps of reeds and sky inspiring love in some and "omg get me out of this bleak vastness!" in others. (I'm of the first persuasion. *g*)

Yes, some people have a real aversion to East Anglia for being so flat. Also for having basically nothing between it and Russia when it comes to bitter winds, even in summer. I think it's beautiful, too.

Well, that's certainly an aspiration, but I think of myself more as a dabbler, because I never seem to practice at any of them enough!
