Cut Copy's Zonoscope is the best 1980s album that 2011 had to offer. It's as if New Order met the delightful elements of euphoric house and had eleven baby tracks.

i love Up Evil and and Off. I see what you mean with the similarity. Must go listen to Religion and Crushed now! Don't think that for me anyone's really picked up the baton from Front 242, Ultraviolence, and friends yet. But I'm sure they will. Dub Step kind of looks sort of promising, but it's a bit blokey/beery/Essexy at the moment, sadly: it would be nice if some heavy dub step came along which had a wider range of influences, citing people like Current 93, Aphex Twin, Merzbow, Coil, Deutsch Nepalm etc, along with perhaps Pixies, The Fall, Kate Bush, Depeche Mode, Human League and Kylie. Not asking for much am I? :-)
