Lots of cats and kids, and a quick trip to Harwell. You can tell it's school / term time.

I had forgotten this month started with me getting locked in the downstairs bathroom just before we were about to leave for school. Humuhumu had to rescue me with the help of a Leatherman and instructions delivered over video call by her dad. She was quite proud of herself, and rightfully so.

Ah, Humuhumu is clever, getting you out of the bathroom. I also weirdly love the mechnical car wash, and find it slightly terrifying at the same time.

We call the car wash "going through the monster". The first time we went through it , years ago, the screaming was a mixture of delight and terror. There's less screaming now but I'm told the feeling is much the same for both of them.

The lock mechanism broke, so the bloke removed the exterior mechanism. Unfortunately the latch was still in place and hadn't been taped off, so it was still possible to engaged it just by shutting the door, which was what happened to me that morning. I was then trapped inside with no tools to open it!

Birthday pie! I am 100% on board with that as a tradition, over cake!

It was an awesome pie. It had about a kilo of apples in it from the nearby National Trust orchard. Soooo good. We had it with ice cream and whipped cream for extra indulgence.

Yes! We would have been properly stuffed without it, I didn't have my phone so I couldn't even have called the schools to explain their absences. 😆
