Sheep herding

A friend, who owns a smallholding a few miles down the road, invited us this morning to help with rounding up some lambs, and stand around in a big pond in our wellies. Who could resist such inducements?
















This 4G mast was deliberately designed to look like a turret to obtain planning permission for the greater good.


A sheep poo that looked exactly like a pinecone, so it was demanded that I take a photo.













 
If any of the children's actions are puzzling you, just approach the photo with the perspective, "How can I get as filthy as possible in this situation?" and all will become clear.

Funny thing locally is that with numerous herds, there doesn't appear to be a single lamb.

They must have kept the rams off for some reason.

I am reminded of collecting offspring from school, and being told there were wet clothes in his bag. "Oh?" I said. "There was another child with water balloons," said offspring. "Ah, you don't need to say any more," I said. Obviously if there were water balloons my child was going to find a way to get in the path of them.

That 4G mast would be catnip to me as a hiker. I once very nearly got quite lost because I mistook a survey marker for a hill fort, but fortunately a passing priest set me right.
