What’s your favourite breakfast food?

Pancakes with loads of maple syrup and crispy bacon on the side. I very rarely make it, but I love to order it on the rare occasions I go out for breakfast.

I bet even diners serve genuine maple syrup around your way.

(I recently discovered the magic combination of peanut butter + bacon.)

The very few that offer such an option on their menus, yes. :) I eat far too many pancakes whenever I visit the States.

US crispy bacon is a curse upon my house. :D

None at all, sadly, unless I purchase it. Maple syrup is prohibitively expensive here so it's only for special occasions.

Ah yes, the crispy/streaky v. thick/back bacon debate. It is a familiar one. I have trained Keiki to love crispy bacon, so I have an ally in this house!

I like all these things, but the combination still feels wrong, even though I like treacle cured ham, which basically IS syrup on bacon.

And now I want a bacon sandwich.

Bacon sandwich yesss. A piping hot one with brown (or red, I'm not that fussy) sauce, after a long walk in the cold.

There are a few USian tastes I've hung onto. Not many, but this will always be my favourite breakfast, and I love many styles of breakfast.
