Do you have any recurring dreams?

I used to when I was younger, and would remember them. I haven't for years, though. My remembered dreams are pretty tedious, since they involve pretty obvious links with stressors or specific anxieties I'm experiencing.

Like, oh, I'm standing in front of a group of people without any trousers, on the night before I have an interview? Really, brain? You think it was worth losing those hours of sleep, just to be sure I get dressed tomorrow? Spoiler alert: I WOULD HAVE REMEMBERED. Wanker.

I get the stereotypical reoccurring dreams where I’m in high school/university and totally forgotten about a test or class I was supposed to be going to. Or sometimes that they changed the requirements for graduating after I graduated and tell me I have to go back to high school.

I also get a reoccurring theme in which I’m in a LARP, and the LARP starts to bleed into (dream) reality.

For years I had a recurring dream where I'd gotten to resume kissing with someone who I'd had a short real-life period of kissing with. I really liked it and I guess I missed it! The dreams got so meta that after a while I was thinking "I'm so glad this time it isn't a dream!!" Extra disappointing waking up from those.

So when we did get to have our first real-life makeout session again, I of course thought "omg THIS time it really IS real!" but then of course had moments of fleeting worry that it wouldn't be. I ended up having to tell him this whole embarrassing story, which he thought was hilarious and adorable. It now kind of seems like that to me too.

I haven't needed to have that dream since!

I have one in a vast rambling house over several levels with a huge basement section full of rooms.

It's urban and surrounded by a church, a college and a street of small shops and is like nowhere I've ever been or lived.

Brains are sometimes very unhelpful about these things.
