My sixth former went today but the secondary school is not until next Tuesday! Mind you, since her birthday the now 13 year-old has been sleeping until the afternoon and then playing Animal Crossing so it is not as if she is any bother while I am working exactly but I feel she needs more of a life.
Also lockdown growth spurt is a thing. I thought it was all the lying in bed but maybe not going by your two.
Wonderful! Must be such a relief for the children to be back in school and have all that interaction again - I imagine they'll be exhuasted this weekend! Hopefully this is the turning point of your year of stress with house now finished and bit more space for homeworking as well.
They were knackered on Saturday. We went for some morning exercise and then they were just in their onesies all aftenroon, and they still went to bed early.
My home working space is so good. So good that I am not even that bothered that I don't have an office at uni yet. Well, that and the steep rise in covid cases.
(There may also be a smol jealousy about you living in a country where it's possible for the kids to go back to school and for it to be anything other than a vector for disease transmission.)
They're loving it, and it's so nice to see how happy they are when we pick them up.
Honestly, the children are really good about the new covid-safe rules. At this point this mode of living and behaving has actually taken up a significant proportion of their lives.
That's going to make a longitudinal researcher very happy some day. Or very aggravated on all of our behalf about all of the things that we've lived through that were definitely generationally shaping.
LOL I guess so! Man, I hope it works out well longterm. It's not going so well in this country LOL ahem. I know that's not funny, but I laugh and cry a lot now, whether or not it makes sense.

Lockdown growth spurt was definitely a thing. New shoes, new everything needed. Legs: getting so long.
