
Last week I decided to use up a bunch of cooking apples to make apple smush, and then top it with the leftover egg whites from when the bloke had made custard. I was alarmed by the size of the meringue when it came out of the oven, but alas, I clearly hadn't whisked sufficiently because within a few minutes this noble edifice had ignominiously collapsed.
