Day 272/365: The modern wood fairy wears trainers

Originally we had a playdate scheduled for today, but our friends had to make an emergency trip to the vet. So instead we spent the day cooking, and rounded it off with a walk in the woods.

I turned our largest pumpkin into two pies. It has been years since I made pie from scratch and I forgot how long it takes. It was totally worth it, though. There is only one slice remaining of one pie, and the other has been squirreled away to be taken to a work do next week.

I can smell fresh bread baking downstairs, so I'll be off now to make sure it's OK.

Yay, soup! I have finally won the battle with the Giant Overgrown Squashes. They are all either soup or pie now. :P

She loves her shades. She's excited about the prospect of getting a new pair next year when her prescription gets redone. ;)
