Day 246/365: Last of the summer holidays

The person the photo above is very nervous about their first day in Year One tomorrow. Normally she would've been fast asleep by 8 PM, but tonight there was a need for snuggling in the Big Bed and whispered reassurances that yes, she did know all her new teachers already, and her classmates' names, and it was all going to be fine. So it's early bed for me and a short post for DW.

Thank you! It was. She was a little clingy just before going in, but then she sprang through the doors when she saw the head teacher.

Thanks! She had a great first day. She was in Silver Zone (the best) and did some reading aloud, and got two stars (the most) for her work at the end of the day, so she was content. :D

My niecephew just started year 1 and apparently came home slightly miffed that they hadn't had a science lesson yet.

Humuhumu has already been wondering aloud when they will start doing experiments. If she can do them on holiday, surely they should be doing them in school? Well, quite!
