Day 218/365: Keiki and the ladybird

Keiki found a ladybird in the garden, and it stayed to play with him for twenty minutes or so, crawling up and down his arm and occasionally flying down to his foot.

Yes! He kept up a non-stop stream of chatter to it whilst it explored him. :)

He thinks all the garden creatures are his friends. Except for the wasps. He doesn't dislike them, he just knows that he should not attempt to play with them.

In which he is wiser than my parents' dog, who attempted to eat a wasp yesterday. Hopefully she will remember what happened next time a wasp flies past her nose.

I'm glad the ladybird had a place to stay for a bit, and that Keiki was able to stay a place for the ladybird to say hello.

He was enraptured by the ladybird, and it seemed equally fascinated by him. :)

Aww that was such a big part of my childhood. I love seeing kids with ladybirds. It is such a cool thing to do :)

Ladybirds are friendly enough to be played with, but are also able to fly off if the play gets too rough or when they've had enough. :)
