Day 181/365: Alolan Aloha

The state of my egg stash in Pokémon Go. All Alolan!

PokéGo Friends, thank you so much for all the gifts. I’m reciprocating as much as I can but it’s hard when I don’t go into the city for a couple of days, ha. Next time I go I shall endeavour to build up a big stash to share with you.

Now I understand why, for the two weeks prior to the introduction of the Friends feature, all the Pokéstops seemed to be dropping 2 km eggs. It was so we could clear our stashes to make way for Alolan eggs from gifts. What a nice touch.

So far I just have an Alolan Rattata and Alolan Meowth because I’m down to just my permanent incubator. However, I’ve got my coins saved up for the next Community Day Special Box, and am crossing my fingers that it is generously populated with egg incubators.

I’m still so chuffed to be able to be Poké friends with people who are hundreds or thousands of miles away! ♥

Community Day is supposed to have the benefit of quartering hatch distance, so hopefully the box has a lot of super incubators so you can make the 7k batch in less than one.

Still looking for the Alolan Vulpix from an egg, but one of the ones you sent over hatched a neon Grimer.

I hear there's an advantage (or will be eventually) to sending the gifts a long distance. If you want my codes (California), let me know.

I'm getting Alolan Meowth and Sandshrews, mainly, but also a Rattata and a Grimer.

I am full of unhatched normal eggs. I ended up down to my permanent incubator and then sick so couldn't stick my mons in gyms but I got Gollem to do some work yesterday and that got me enough to buy one today. My data will also reset now so I can actually have the app on while I'm walking more. Made a streaming mistake midmonth and ate a huge chunk. Oops.

I'm being all nerdy not going to lie. If something looks fancy on the gift postcard I google it. That is an amazing part of the game and also the one that means I'm careful about who I be friends with cause ...flashing my hometown to all and sundry ect.

Oh no, unintentional streaming data loss! I've had that with the kids a couple of times (watching YouTube, aaargh). On the plus side, they now understand that watching stuff == using data unless a thing is downloaded to my phone.

Also, PokéGo is such a battery-eater, argh.

I just evolved one of those and my first thought was "What hideous experiments have they been doing on hamsters?!"

It's lovely, isn't it! I wasn't at all interested in raiding as a means of building a PokéGo community, but this is wonderful.

I shall brace myself when I evolve Alolan Rattata...

I've been very lucky and have hatched one of each of the Alolan forms available at the moment. Now I'm saving up enough Grimer candy to evolve one because I've seen the evolved form in gyms and it looks like an explosion in a paint factory run by ravers :)

Ooh, go you! I hatched an Alolan Sandshrew today and I'm very happy about that. It's beautiful. Looking forward to Alolan Vulpix. And now you've described the Alolan Muk so vividly, I'm even looking forward to that (much as I dislike Grimer).

It's Whismur that I dislike - those little cross eye slits make me think it's eyes have been sewn shut :(
