Last week I had a cold. Yep. That one was like a cute little warm-up baby cold for the one that hit me last night. This is the kind of cold where no matter what kind of high-strength cold medicine you take, your nostrils keep dripping like a tap and your head feels twice its normal size. To top things off, I've fallen to the Communists*.

So I'm just gonna sit back with my herb tea and pile of blankets, and enjoy my new Netflix subscription (I know, I know, I just discovered Netflix. Yep that's me, totally 2000-and-late) and watch Guardians of the Galaxy which, it turns out, is hilarious (see previous parenthetical interjection).

* Am surfing the crimson wave/Aunt Irma is visiting/insert your favourite euphemism here

I hope you feel better! Meanwhile, GotG does seem like the kind of thing to make one feel better in the throes of a cold, so at least you have them, and Netflix, to keep you company.

I've never heard the "fallen to the Communists" euphemism, but I like it so much better than any of the ones I have heard. I'll need to remember that one!

I got to episode 7 of season 2 last night also :)

Haha, I love that the "BB ate" joke is proliferating through LJ/DW (another flister told it to her nephew, though you definitely had the larger audience!) Thanks for letting me know, btw, I am definitely tickled to hear that :)

Ive never heard the communists one. Or ‘Irma’.

We recently watched the back catalogue of bake-off. Also for light relief- suits, the good wife and madmen

It got addictive! I never saw the first season but couldn’t remember much outside of isolated incidents for the others either!

Fallen to the Communists is the best descriptor for monthly woe I've seen in a while. Alas, I shall suffer with you while riding the crimson wave.

Enjoy that Netflix! Feel better soon!

I also just got into Netflix after discovering the internet here is (usually) capable of supporting it. I went through two series of Don't Trust the Bitch in Apartment 23 and then settled into the Ranch, which is better than it seemed.

Reds under the bed! Shark week! Having the painters in!

Brooklyn 99 is a lot of fun, and Aussie Netflix has four seasons of that.

GotG2, also good. GotG in Infinity War, good as well!

Allegedly there will be a GotG3...

Yeah, I think we (had to) have it on DVD.

We went looking for Avengers: Age of Ultron the other night, as we'd recently watched Captain America: Winter Soldier (on Netflix) and were just starting CA: Civil War (on Netflix) when I realised there's stuff in it that's explained in AoU (which only I'd seen, on a flight).

Was this missing link on Netflix? Of course not. It's on Amazon Prime though, as a £10 download. Hmm, maybe I'll just briefly outline the plot... )-:

I had never heard of the fallen to the Communists one. I think that will amuse me for the rest of the day which is a good thing as I too have a horrid cold/suspected tonsillitis like you describe.
