Day 44/365: I made pancakes for Shrove Tuesday

I even made the thin crepe-style pancakes rather than the fluffy American-style ones I usually make, because that's what the children wanted. It was, I have to admit, the last thing I wanted to do tonight. They did taste nice, at least.

How is it only Tuesday?


Keiki and I are so ready for Daddy/bloke to return.

Pancakes! Good job on making them even though urgh. I managed to at least remember it was pancake Tuesday, but I did so at the wrong volume around actual Christians who were a bit non-plussed, because that isn't the right name (although I still don't remember what the right name is. It will come to me later, I'm sure).

No -- you actually put the one I'm most familiar with in the title, but I'd forgotten it by the time I got to writing, and didn't remember seeing it! I suspect I got somewhat confused, because the other thing that had been discussed at lunch was Lent, and I had had a long day, so randomly tried to remember the wrong word.

I woke up that Tuesday and immediately made pancakes. I'm not religious, never was *that* type of religious haha, and despite all the time I've spent in New Orleans, I hadn't paid attention to this season at all. However, I'm quite sure that mentions in the media were in the back of my mind, and if you knew me better, you'd be all, Wait-- you actually hopped outta bed and started making pancakes for no reason that you knew of??
