I think this one really depends on how you define winning, as about halfway through my money's on KSO either getting bored and wandering away without bothering to even hear Marvin's passive aggressive laments, or getting malicious and morbidly fascinated and deliberately poking to see how ridiculous he can get Marvin to be.

So I mean in one sense Marvin wins via being so obnoxiously, determinedly ridiculous that he's not even worth arguing with, you might as well either use him as a cat-toy or go do something more fun. But in another, KSO wins on the basis of being the only person Marvin can't get obscenely frustrated because he really just doesn't fucking care.

And on the third hand Kryten has already looked around and then gone to find the nearest caberet on the basis that he's not drunk enough for this, and probably (given the givens) cannot become so, so fuckit, he's heard there's good stage shows on this dump of a planet.

I've no idea who this K-2SO is, but Marvin wins. Marvin *ALWAYS* wins. He just wins in a way that seems to him like he's lost. =:o}

I really liked a lot of things about Rogue One, but in an otherwise quite grim film (especially by Star Wars standards) K-2SO was exactly the right sort of darkly comic relief. Also, I immediately pegged him as Marvin, but with the depression replaced by sociopathy.

My head-canon for this is that somehow the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation exists in the Star Wars universe, and very, very briefly had a contract for droids, because K-2SO certainly has a Genuine People Personality™.

I like Kryten's assessment. That seems like the correct course of action. Especially if you don't want to be peremptorily annihilated by an irritated K-2SO.
