London Book Bench Hunting Part 3: The Bloomsbury Trail

Yesterday, we took the train down to London for the day to meet the bloke's brother, his partner and our nephew. The bloke's brother has worked in Bloomsbury for over a decade and when he heard that I wanted to follow the book bench trail, he volunteered to take us on the best path. We gratefully accepted.

Looking meaningfully over the back of the bench at the food stalls in Brunswick Square, from which delicious smells emanated. A not so subtle hint that it was lunchtime.


The art on the Pride and Prejudice bench was...disappointing. So the bloke and I attempted Mr Darcy and Lizzie Bennett. I think he did a bit better, though the whole effect is spoilt overall by Starbucks cups.

This weekend was the last hurrah of the Books about Town, so sadly we had to leave the last trail (the City trail) unexplored. We also missed out on Around the World in 80 Days and The Day of the Triffids. But I'm pleased we tried.

Nephew has the same gleeful photo gene as Humuhumu! Love the James Bond one and the Peter Pan pic, where Nephew looks like a giant skateboarder on a tiny wall.

Aw, thank you! It's difficult to take bad pictures of Nephew and Humuhumu, although it can be challenging to get ones that aren't blurry...

Thank you for being the first to notify me of their impending arrival! I do wish they'd hung about a bit longer, but we have the Shaun the Sheep trail to anticipate in 2015, and I'll be on maternity leave for that one. :)

Yes, he does! He's such a ham - he was getting into everyone's photos, including strangers'. Nobody seemed to mind. :)

I do wish we could have got to the City Trail. I should've done it during Worldcon but just didn't have the energy. :(
