Sauntering Vaguely Downward

Even if you don't say something along those lines, they'll often decide you're terribly off-putting and then get defensive with you in what is presumably an attempt to assert dominance or superiority. It used to really piss me off, but these days I find it easier to [internally] roll my eyes and either let it go or walk away.
