Woke up to a cold frosty morning. Children out-slept us, surprisingly.
Stocking presents in bed. Most successful stocking presents: rainbow slinkies from Primark, £1.
Went for a run with the bloke, like a pair of overachieving American MDs.
Subsequently, three hours of gift-opening next to a roaring fire, with mulled wine.
A late lunch and naptime/down-time with the aid of various electronic devices.
Tea with Christmas cake and supper preparations (fish pie!). As commis chef, chopped many vegetables, also washed many pans.
Arrival of last set of out-laws and phone calls from US-based relatives (mine and out-laws).
Beer.
Supper and silly hats, wine. Children thrilled to have their own room and table ate a surprising amount of actual food, having subsisted primarily on chocolate and sweets for the rest of the day.
Second round of gift-opening. Anxiously watching to see if Niece liked her new goth clothes. Overwhelmed with joy when she immediately donned her black hoodie.
Keiki approaching delirium. Bedtime for the small children; elder children joined in for game-time ("The Werewolves of Miller's Hollow").
Whisky and becoming one with a comfy chair now.
