Our beloved and heavily used red DeLonghi kettle finally died on us last month after twelve years of intensive service. After much deliberation, we decided to replace it with the same brand and colour again. Although it's the same basic shape and colour scheme, there have been small tweaks to the design in the intervening time between kettle purchases. I would enumerate them, but I need a cuppa.

I've never had a kettle for more than 3 or 4 years. But our water is really bad.

I also need a cuppa. My kettle is not an old and faithful friend. It's very "tech" and jiggles like a Dalek as it boils. But it does have a range of lower settings, for hot water bottles and coffee and other things that don't need to be AT ONE HUNDRED DEGREES, and that is something.

Oh wow, fancy kettle. I love that it has a hot water bottle setting, there's something particularly British about that!
I was gifted a fancy tea-maker a couple of years ago by My Friend Josh and that has settings for all different types of tea. I love it.
