DIY results.

Since the start of 2012, my life has mostly consisted of DIY. We've completely converted the front garden and revamped the kitchen - plaster and paint for the walls plus repairing, sanding and varnishing the floor.

I'm hoping that the end of this week will mark the end of it. To celebrate, here are some before and after photos of the front of our house and the kitchen.

I'm rather proud of that pillar box red front door. It represents an entire weekend's work: sanding, priming and painting.

Also, I love the color of the walls in your kitchen. That airy sky blue is one of the best colors ever!

Thank you! I'm happy with the way the kitchen turned out. The bloke was worried about painting the kitchen a non-neutral colour but it seems to suit it.

I'm just a little sad that I only get to enjoy the cheeriness of Red Front Door for another couple of months. I think I'll have to paint our next front door pillar-box red too.

Yay, thank you for the affirmation! I need lots of it in relation to the house right now after all the work we put in.

We made lots of mistakes along the way and we had loads of help from the bloke's father, who spent 25-odd years doing up the 10-bed rectory that is their familial pile. I'm hoping it will be a bit easier next time.
