The Checklist

I have made some of my pilgrimages.

• Shopped at Trader Joe's for treats to bring home to the UK

• Visited Barnes and Noble and bought books

• Eaten pancakes at IHOP

• Visited the neighbours and met their gorgeous new rescue dog, a German Shepherd / collie mix (she was abandoned at a rest stop on Christmas 😞 but now has her forever home 😍)

• Shopping at Target, especially for nonstandard Oreo flavours

• Excursion to Best Buy to get my parents gadgets they don't think they need but will be unable to live without after I go

• Called Ohio auntie

Still to come:

• Lunch with my auntie-out-law

• Trip downtown to get bubble tea and visit the record shop

• Having a root beer float

• Walk at the bird sanctuary if it ever stops raining

• More phone calls to relatives who don't understand international dialing, WhatsApp, or time zones

Nothing too exciting, a USB-C to HDMI cable, and a couple of the android equivalent of air tags.

That's a great idea.

I recently read an article that the more different species of birds singing nearby, the happier humans are.

My parents have a bird feeder and bird baths so it's been nice to see all the North American species again. The robins are so big. And I do love a flock of noisy juncos.

Thanks! Fingers crossed the gadgets will help my parents to be more comfortable.

I always have to remind myself to order the smallest portions available in restaurants here, because even then I'll almost certainly be unable to finish. I did finish my blueberry pancakes though. :D :D :D

Thank you. Very nearly finished, although the bird sanctuary looks unlikely because of the weather. I will probably switch this up with a walk around Capitol Lake.
