Do you enjoy dystopian future books/movies?

I used to, but as we are collectively living through one right now, it feels superfluous to reading and watching the news.

Yep.

First time that happened to me was The Handmaid’s Tale

Right! I remember when the series came out, I thought, I should be all over this, but I'm not, hm, oh well.

Also, back in March, just after lockdown 1.0 started, we tried to watch "Contagion" because the bloke had never seen it, and I remembered it being really good. Which it is, buuuut...we had to stop halfway through, and we both slept badly for about a week.

I have a feeling that the decades-long obsession with dystopia might cool significantly now that people have recognized their living in one, and it's nothing like what they've read or watched or played.

It's just unpleasant and monotonous, living in fear.

I agree that it was more enjoyable when it was fiction. Phew.

Yeah, that kind of speculation is only fun when it feels like it's a distant possibility.
