It is cold and icy rain is falling outside tonight. But the Moon, she is looking rather gorgeous.

Manual settings on the dSLR with a telephoto lens, using a fast shutter speed with a relatively narrow aperture, to avoid blowing the highlights. :)

Fast???? I know the moon is much brighter than anything else in the night sky, but... You did that on a *FAST* shutter speed? =:oO

Of course, fast "film" (i.e. "ISO setting") to go with the fast shutter speed. I hail from the era when anything over ISO 100 film would cost you extra... =:o\ (I usually bought 200, as an almost-adequate compromise for indoor and outdoor shooting.) And presumably the telephoto lens gathers a decent amount more light per radian than the cheaper basic lenses I had.
