Day 240/365: Lake District holiday: St Bees
We drove up to St Bees during the camping portion of our Lake District holiday and spent a day romping on the beach below the cliffs. We arrived about an hour before low tide, which gave us a chance to enjoy the full extent of the sand before it was swallowed up again by the sea.
Keiki, bloke and Humuhumu head toward the sea, with newly purchased rock-pooling nets in hand.
Mummy and Daddy are too slow. T minus 30 seconds to Keiki stripping off his trousers.
Shoes and trousers off. I reckon they would have stripped off completely had it been a few degrees warmer, but as it was, that wind was cutting despite the bright sunshine.

Why do so many of my photos feature my daughter running away from me at full speed? Toward something dangerous? :P
Humuhumu dips her net into the sea.
Humuhumu finds a small, beautiful shell in a rock pool. Keiki looks for crabs.
Crab wedged itself under a rock and wouldn't come out to play, but we found some tiny shrimp friends!
Everyone enjoys having their feet in the sea.
Keiki splashes himself as thoroughly as possible before we go to the playground.
Enjoying a well-earned lunch after a hike to the top of the cliffs.
