/nodnod I was reading some of the responses to what foxfinial was saying, and just... ugh, the level of defensiveness and privilege-- it's like, we've seen it all before, and it keeps happening over and over, but so many are still discounting even the possibility of racism at cons! Gasp!

(And this, along with some really hurt/defensive reactions to posts about why "exotic" is an awful descriptor for people of color-- I don't even know sometimes.)
