We have a couple of shops in our part of London that offer this - you can go in as an individual, group-book it for a child's party, etc. There is a time limit, but they definitely fire your item for you to collect later. One of my kids now has a glazed dragon, the other a glazed horse, and I've been gifted a decorated mug that's actually too huge to be practical!
