It all ended well for the side this household was supporting, so it's still funny now, but this had me chuckling the entire match.


About seven minutes in. Both sides lining up for a free kick dangerously close to goal.

Commentator #1, pointedly: "No one has scored a direct goal in this tournament yet from a set piece."

***long pause***

Commentator #2, plaintively: "Why would you say that?"
Commentator #1, gleefully: "Because they haven't!"

Well, it's more about snarkiness and superstition than it is about any actual rules of sportsball, if that's any comfort!
