I knew that one of my college buddies' now-wife would be a cool person when I spotted her in the cafeteria my freshman year (before they even got together) wearing a Cat and Girl t-shirt. I never said anything to her then, but after she became part of my de facto social circle I mentioned it to her ("I remember you wearing that Cat and Girl shirt!") and then we had a nice long fan chat.
